Sakuramochi (桜餅) is an exquisite traditional Japanese dessert usually eaten in Spring. This is a Kansai-style Sakuramochi, made with domyoji-ko (Japanese sweet glutinous rice 道明寺粉) with a smooth red bean filling, topped with a salt-pickled sakura blossom.
The Sakuramochi absorbs its unique fragrance from the salt-pickled sakura blossom. With a subtle floral taste and a chewy texture, it's a must-try for anyone looking for a truly authentic Japanese sweet.
