  • What is traditional Japanese wagashi?
Wagashi is a broad term used to describe traditional Japanese confections that are typically enjoyed with green tea. Wagashi translates to “Japanese sweets” or “Japanese snacks”. Please refer to the respective product pages for detailed information.
  • Are your Japanese wagashi sweet?
While most traditional Japanese wagashi are known to be quite sweet as they are paired with tea, we are pleased to inform you that our wagashi and nerikiri are 40% lower in sugar than the traditional recipe. This reduction in sugar level gives our wagashi a light flavor that is not overwhelmingly sweet, so that you and your family (especially kids) can enjoy them guilt-free when in moderation.
  • What ingredients are in your wagashi?
Please refer to the respective product pages for detailed information. loveforwagashi.com/shop
  • What is the best way to enjoy wagashi?
Japanese wagashi should be eaten fresh, on the same day received/purchased. To store, please keep refrigerated at all times & consume latest by the next day. To enjoy them at the ideal texture: Take them out of the fridge & allow them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes. (Do not remove the cover until you're ready to consume, to prevent the nerikiri skin from drying). Enjoy the wagashi with a warm cup of unsweetened tea to complete the experience!
  • How long can I keep the wagashi for?
All of our wagashi should be eaten on the same day received/purchased. Otherwise, they should be refrigerated(chilled) & consumed latest by the next day. Our wagashi (including fillings) are freshly made from scratch & do not contain preservatives.
