About Love For Wagashi
Japan is one of the oldest civilizations which has a beautiful and diverse history & culture. The stunning, diverse scenery with mountains and breathtaking views are much appreciated by the Japanese, and attracts tourists from all over world.
While many have visited Japan, most are not sure what the traditional Japanese desserts are. Have you heard of wagashi? Traditionally, wagashi are designed to reflect the events & characteristics of the different seasons.
Love For Wagashi was conceptualized out of the desire to share a part of Japan’s traditional culture, by offering different kinds of wagashi, all handmade from scratch from raw ingredients.
Since March 2021, Love For Wagashi has been offering freshly made handcrafted nerikiri, which is a type of traditional Japanese wagashi. Wagashi is a broad term used to describe traditional Japanese confections that are typically enjoyed with green tea. Nerikiri is made with sweetened white bean paste (Shiro-an) & glutinous rice flour, which is then beautifully shaped & sculpted by hand. Its attractive, intricate designs are perfect as edible gifts, suitable for any occasion!

Very smooth bean paste filling and nerikiri skin, made from scratch. The sweetness & flavors of the confections are well-balanced - can actually taste the natural fragrance of the white beans and azuki beans. Amazing.
