Somin Tashiyaa ( aka Somin Putturuu, widely called 'Somin Champuruu' now. )
This is an Okinawan stir-fried Somen dish.
'Tashiyaa' is a southern Okinawan word, and in northern Okinawa, 'Irichaa' is used. The Amami Islands have similar dish, too, 'Abura Zomen / Amba Zomin / Somin Suuki'. In the old times during typhoon days, Okinawan mothers often cooked this for the family.
